The London Welsh Camerata

The London Welsh Camerata is a group of experienced singers drawn from the membership of the London Welsh Chorale. The Camerata performs at special occasions such as weddings, parties and carol services in London and the Home Counties.

Repertoire ranges from traditional hymns, carols and folk songs to sacred music by Bach, Fauré, Handel, Mendelssohn & Mozart. In particular, of course, it features music by Welsh composers or those with Welsh connections – sung in both Welsh and English.

The Camerata is available for evening and weekend events all year round and we are always happy to discuss repertoire and help organisers plan the musical aspects of their special occasions.

If you would like to know more about the Camerata please contact Ruth Brooks at camerata@londonwelshchorale.org.uk.

Testimonials

"Mi oedd y camerata yn rhagorol, mi oedd llawer iawn o ddagrau wrth glywed yr emynau a mi oedd gwen y Gwenidog yn bictiwr! Mi o'n yn clywed yn y gwesty lleol bod y camerata yn 'talk of the village' diwrnod hwnnw! Mi oedd bob emyn yn berffaith ac hudanol ac yn union fel nes I ddychmygu - un o'r highlights y briodas i mi ac i lawer arall. Diolch yn fawr iawn am drefnu hyn ac am neud siwr bod popeth yn berffaith.

The Camerata was superb, there were many tears shed during the hymns and the smile on the priest's face was a picture! I heard in the local hotel that the Camerata were the talk of the village that day!  Every hymn was perfect and magical and exactly as I had imagined - it was one of the highlights of the day for me and for many others. Thank you very much for organising and for ensuring that everything was perfect." Lisa Siddiqi (Wedding in Long Melford, Suffolk, August 2014)

"Just a small note to say a BIG thank you from me and all my guests. I have heard nothing but praise about your performance. I think some guests, and not just the Welsh ones, got quite emotional!" Kay Griffiths (Birthday Party in Farnham Common, Bucks, September 2013)
