London Welsh Chorale - Corâl Cymry LlundainThe London Welsh Chorale has rehearsed and performed in central London and around the globe since 1983. Members hail from a range of professions and backgrounds, and the repertoire spans from the Renaissance to the modern. The Chorale is committed to keeping Welsh music alive in London, and has supported many young professional singers and orchestral players in our professional concerts. New members are always welcome! Christmas!
Our main Christmas concert this year was a huge success. The two main concert pieces: Mozart - Vespers and Saint-Seans - Christmas Oratorio, were enthusiastically received. The Chorale and five great soloists (including our very own Ruth Brooks) were superbly accompanied by the amazing Edward Kemp-Luck, all directed expertly by Edward-Rhys Harry on the podium. The miscellaneous English and Welsh Christmas items were a joy. The a capella Hwiangerdd Mair was a very special moment and received many lovely comments from the audience. The audience singing was an uplifting contribution to the festive spirit.
We were delighted once take up our familiar position leading the singing at the London Welsh Churches 9 Lessons and Carols at the London Welsh Centre, accompanied by Jenny Trew and conducted by Nigel Wills.
The carol singing at Waterloo Station raised a fantastic £400 for Poverty Action, the charity we have supported at Christmas for several years now.
We were delighted once take up our familiar position leading the singing at the London Welsh Churches 9 Lessons and Carols at the London Welsh Centre, accompanied by Jenny Trew and conducted by Nigel Wills.

Return visit of Coro Polifonico S.Antonio Abate: September 8th & 9th.
We were delighted to welcome Coro Polifonico S. Antonio Abate to London in September. We had a fantastic welcome at their home in Pordenone, Italy, last year and we hope they felt we returned the hospitality earlier this term.
We had two concerts planned for the visit at The Welsh Church of Central London, Eastcastle & St John's Church, Waterloo.
We thoroughly enjoyed both concerts, lovely repertoire on the friday and a wonderfull Mozart requiem on Saturday; to mention the new Locus Iste from Edward which was very well received. Mozart: Requiem

Summer concerts in London & Gresford
Earlier in the summer we had not one, but two, concerts. On July 8th, we returned to our regular London venue of St Sepulchre without Newgate. The following weekend we were off on our travels to Gresford in North Wales. Gresford is the home of Lord Thomas, the choir's President, and we were delighted to be his guest at at the beautiful All Saints Church.
